Andrii Yevhenovych Kozachenko was born on 3 May 1978 in Lviv.
He is a graduate of Lviv Economic Business College, Lviv Banking Institute and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, where he received his economic and law degrees.
He got married in 2019 and his daughter Anastasia was born later that year.
In 2015–2016, he was a military participant in ATO, and served in the 58th Separate Motorised Infantry Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky.
From the first day of the full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the defenders of Ukraine. In the rank of senior soldier, he was a scout in an anti-aircraft artillery platoon of the 24th Motorised Infantry Battalion named after King Danylo.
He died on 24 March 2022 during a combat mission in the city of Popasna, Luhansk region.
He was awarded the following orders posthumously: ‘For Courage’ of the third class, ‘Hero’s Cross’, ‘St. George’s Badge of Honour’, and the ‘Cross of the Brave’, an honourable badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
